Software Engineer & Technology Consultant · he/him · DFW area, TX, USA
I'm a technology consultant and full-stack engineer who likes every layer of the stack — and most of the layers underneath it. By day I build and ship web and desktop software, front end to back end; the rest of the time I'm usually elbow-deep in servers, virtualization, and networks, or wiring code up to a microcontroller to make something physical happen. I've been talking computers into doing new tricks since I was a kid, and I haven't gotten bored yet.
Away from the keyboard, you'll usually find me hunting down the spiciest Asian food or seafood I can get, unwinding with a movie or a YouTube/Twitch rabbit hole, or — let's be honest — tinkering with some new gadget on the bench.
##how i work
Own it end to end
I like to understand a system top to bottom and take it the whole way — front end to back end, and the code to the board it runs on. Owning the whole thing beats owning a slice of it.
Solve the real problem
Before writing any code I dig into what's actually being asked — the real problem behind the request — and explain the trade-offs in plain language, jargon optional.
Boring where it counts
For the load-bearing parts I reach for proven, well-understood tools and build for the long haul. The shiny new stuff is for places it can't hurt anyone.
Ship small, automate the rest
I'd rather ship something small and sharpen it than chase a perfect upfront design. And if I have to do a thing more than twice, I'll usually teach a computer to do it for me.
Lean, and verified
I care about not wasting resources — efficient, lean systems are worth the effort — and I check that things actually work before they go out the door.
Always learning, always tinkering
I'm a lifelong learner and a hands-on tinkerer: I take things apart, build my own versions, and pick up something new whenever I get the chance.
